About Tom Ringley
Tom Ringley was mostly raised in Sheridan, Wyoming, where, in addition to attending and graduating from Sheridan High School and Sheridan College, he worked at a local ranch, the HF Bar, which would many years later become the subject of his second book.
Tom completed his college education at the George Washington University, Washington, D. C. where he earned a B. A. Degree in English Literature. Following graduation, he embarked on what was to become a twenty-seven year career as an officer in the United States Air Force. Tom rose to the rank of Colonel and was a command and staff officer in the logistics career field at all levels of the Air Force.
When he completed his Air Force career, Tom and his wife Georgina returned to the Sheridan area and settled in Big Horn, Wyoming a small community at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains.
Since leaving the Air Force, Tom has held positions in local government and worked in the private sector including a stint as a senior logistics advisor to the Saudi Arabian Air Force. After serving eight years as the Executive Director of the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation, Tom was elected to the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners and currently serves in that capacity.
In addition to employment in a variety of capacities in the government and private sector, Tom also served on a number of volunteer boards and has been a Director of the Sheridan Wyo Rodeo since 2001. His service with the rodeo board prompted him to write his first book, Rodeo Time in Sheridan Wyo that was published in 2004. |
