BIOGRAPHY:
Tom was born in Phoenix, Arizona but at age three months moved to Sheridan, where his mother was born and raised. He lived in Sheridan intermittently through his teenage years and graduated from Sheridan High School and Sheridan College.
Tom completed his college education at the George Washington University and was then commissioned in the United States Air Force. He served for twenty-seven years in challenging command and staff positions around the world and completed his career with the rank of Colonel.
Tom entered the USAF as a resident of Wyoming and maintained his residency throughout his career. Additionally, he always voted in Sheridan County by absentee ballot.
When he retired from the USAF in 1990 Tom and his wife, Georgina, settled in Big Horn and Tom became active in community service. The numerous community boards with which Tom has been involved are listed below.
In the private sector Tom was employed in Sheridan as a realtor and for two years worked as a senior logistics advisor to the Saudi Arabian Air Force in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
In the public sector Tom served as the Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator and as the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Facility Director. He was also responsible for implementation of the American with Disabilities Act in Sheridan County and preparing a Mutual Aid Support Agreement for Emergency Services in Sheridan County.
Currently, Tom is the Executive Director of the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation, a position he has held for the past eight years.
Tom and Georgina have three grown children who live and work in the Sheridan area.
